StarCraft 2 is one of those games that is simple to play but difficult to master. These types of games are good for everyone, both new players and professionals alike. Here are some basic StarCraft 2 multiplayer tips that I learned while playing the game and reading a guide.
Learn the best tactics for each race. Let’s face it, when you’re playing a game like StarCraft 2 there are going to be some strategies that are just better than others. That is the nature of games like this. That’s one of the alluring points to real time strategy games is that they bring so many different tactics to play into each game. Learning the best ways to defeat your opponent with the tactics that your race can utilize is one of the most important aspects that you must know to succeed and win.
Learn the best build orders for your favorite race. There are some very outlined build orders to go by if you want to have the absolute quickest way to getting your most powerful units to the battlefield. This strategy alone can be one of the largest deciding factors for a game to be a victory or a defeat. I’ve seen replays where one player has a decent sized army and decides to attack, but the other player has some massive units that just destroy everything that the attacking player has, partly because the defender had the faster build order to get out those massive units.
Always try to kill the enemy’s workers first. Even if you have a smaller army at the beginning to middle of the game, as long as you can get past their army to the workers and kill them, then you have a good shot of winning the game. Just take a small group straight to the peons to destroy them. Without the steady economic income at the beginning to middle of the game, it’s hard to come back from a set back like it.
Like I said before, these are some pretty basic StarCraft 2 multiplayer tips but just because they are basic does not mean that everyone uses them. A lot of newer players will just blindly build units and hope for the best. While that might work against someone else who is a beginner and using that same style of gameplay, don’t expect it to work very much. If you are looking for a better way to play, consider picking up a copy of a StarCraft 2 multiplayer guide to help you learn quickly some of the best strategies to use.
