The Inexpensive Versatility Of HP’s 3600 Printer Series

The HP 3600 Series Printers are ideal for a small office network with massive productivity needs. This series of laser printers is comprised of two units: the 3600n (Q5987A) and the 3600dn (Q5988A). While both have key differences, they share some common features which make them suitable in a competitive environment of today’s workplace, like the use of 3600 printer toner.

Both the 3600n and the 3600dn boast of a processor with a 360-MHz speed. Such allows for the machines to come up with up to 17 pages per minute, for both colored and black and white printing tasks. They’re specifically designed to be operated with much simplicity. Even their installation is hassle-free; all that’s needed is a few clicks of the mouse button to have their software installed.

Now more than ever, coming up with standout colored prints is a necessity. For the series of laser printers, HP has developed and added some innovations. For example, the new breed of toner called ColorSphere helps extend the range of colors available. In addition, such toner enables brighter and more intense color rendering. However, to achieve the best results, it is recommended to use Hewlett-Packard’s paper with 5 layers of glossy coating technology.

To make maintenance a much easier task, now there are only 4 cartridges gracing the machines. But that’s not all; the ColorSphere toner and imaging drum are all incorporated into a singular unit. With the need to replace the full imaging unit whenever necessary, a more consistent output is achieved. When replacing the imaging unit, there’s also no need to worry about messy toner spills.

Different media sizes and kinds can be handled by the machines. For the multipurpose tray, sizes ranging from as small as 3 in x 5 in to as large as 8.5 in x 14 in can be handled. For the 250-sheet standard tray, sizes from 5.8 in x 8.3 in to as much as 8.5 in x 14 in can be worked on. Compatible media kinds are extensive as well. From various paper types (plain, bond, glossy, recycled, etc.), transparencies, labels, envelopes to cardstocks.

These laser printers can be hooked up to a desktop computer or office LAN with ease. Thanks to the connectivity options comprised of a USB 2.0 (high-speed) and Ethernet connections. What’s more, it’s easy to connect the machines to a network minus the wires, with the attachment of an optional wireless LAN 802.11b/g accessory.

There are a few key differences between the two printers belonging to the series. Memory-wise, the 3600n carries with it 64 MB, and the 3600dn has 128 MB of it. When it comes to duplex or two-sided printing, the 3600n comes with a manual one, while the 3600dn comes with an automatic one. Both are compact in design, which makes them easy to be placed on a desk. The 3600n measures 15.7″ x 17.7″ x 15.7″ (W x D x H) and weighs 59.6 lbs. with the toner and ink cartridge installed. On the other hand, the 3600dn measures 15.7″ x 17.7″ x 16.7″ (W x D x H) and tips the scale at 61.6 lbs. with the print cartridge installed.

The HP 3600 Series Printers are easy to install, operate and maintain. And such advantages make them ideal for a small office network which requires professional printing jobs. Both the 3600n and the 3600dn carry with them features HP itself has developed, like the LaserJet 3600 toner cartridge, in order to meet varying productivity needs.
