Mobile Phones – The Future

Mobile phones have changed drastically over the years. For starters, they have gone from being big and bulky to being sleek and light. You can now also do things with your mobile phone that once only existed in high-tech, sci-fi films. You can take pictures, send emails, or surf the net. All in all, the mobile phones of today are barely recognizable as cousins of the pre-historic phones of yesteryear. Considering all this, what will the phones of the future be like?

Looks – The appearance of mobile phones seems to be what has changed the most. Every year newer features are added, making mobile phones more than just a phone. New technology has introduced touch screens, videos and internet capabilities. It is no jump to think that one day mobile phones will be integrated into clothing and let you carry your cell around with you no matter where you go. Voice recognition is also something that will help in the change of appearance in mobile phones since keypads probably will not be needed for much longer.

Battery Life – Battery life is one of the biggest concerns when it comes to mobile phones; nothing is more frustrating than having your phone go dead when you need it most. Soon people will be able to wirelessly charge their mobile phones, with hot spots similar to wireless internet spots available for charging in public. Not only will these batteries be able to charge faster, but future phones will have increased battery life that will last for weeks as opposed to days before needing a charge. Wouldn’t it be nice to kiss wall plugs and other primitive chargers goodbye?

Entertainment – It has already become pretty common for people to use their phones for entertainment, with music and videos features already built into most phones. In the future you can expect phones to be capable of handling much more advanced games, maybe even ones equal to the top gaming consoles. Many phone companies are also looking for ways to bring superior speaker sound to their mobile phone models. In the years to come data transfer will also be much faster, meaning that mobile phones could soon have live streaming capabilities and not require any downloads.

Everyday Life – No doubt that mobile phones have changed people’s lifestyles. It is easier than ever to stay connected these days. As if mobile phones are not used enough, in the future it is likely that they will be used even more. It is likely that payments will be able to be made via mobile phone, so it could be possible to place orders for food and pay for it all from your cell. You are also likely to be able to control your home from your mobile phone. Controlling the heat, air and electric usage from your mobile phone is not too far off in the future. Mobile phones are sure to offer much more to people in the future and become an even bigger part of everyday life.
